Sony’s Scott Steinberg is not happy with Nintendo’s success. He believes Nintendo is focusing on small market segments. That sounds funny, at least to me. How come focusing a small market segment will result to a lack of Nintendo Wii in stock? He said Sony will not follow the same strategy to cover the market. They don’t want to focus only the senior citizen group to get into gaming. Scott in his interview said that Sony is planning to launch Blu-ray movies and Blu-ray games. Their focus is PS2 gamers and all those gamers who play games on DVDs. Very soon they will play games with their PS3. Does that not mean leaving a good and strong segment and getting into new market? If Nintendo made senior citizen their only target then keeping Nintendo Wii in stock would not have been a problem. Nintendo never fails to amaze people. It’s not just their software features that are pretty much rocking, it’s also their sales in terms of its Wiis and its DS. In the month of July, Nintendo Wii sales made up 49% of console sales and Nintendo DS 73% of handheld device sales. Plenty To Enjoy With The Dokapon Video 08/19/2008
